Job Summary
The Flash Charging Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, evaluation, implementation, and optimization of electrical systems supporting BYD's flash charging infrastructure. This role ensures charging facilities are designed and operated in accordance with technical standards, safety regulations, and project requirements while supporting the expansion of BYD's EV charging network across Indonesia.
Job Descriptions
- Design and review electrical systems for EV charging infrastructure projects, including power distribution, protection systems, and equipment specifications.
- Conduct site assessments, electrical load calculations, feasibility studies, and technical evaluations for charging station deployment.
- Prepare and review electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, technical specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Coordinate with utility providers, contractors, consultants, and government authorities regarding electrical requirements and approvals.
- Support installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities for charging facilities.
- Ensure compliance with electrical standards, safety regulations, and company engineering requirements.
- Analyze operational performance and reliability of charging stations, identifying opportunities for improvement and optimization.
- Collaborate with project, operations, and business development teams to support successful charging infrastructure expansion.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, power systems, EV charging infrastructure, utilities, renewable energy, or industrial projects.
- Strong knowledge of power distribution systems, transformers, switchgear, protection systems, and electrical design principles.
- Experience with EV charging technology, high-voltage systems, and electrical infrastructure projects is preferred.
- Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, DIgSILENT, or similar engineering tools.
- Familiarity with Indonesian electrical standards, regulations, and utility connection processes.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in Bahasa Indonesia and English; Mandarin proficiency is an advantage.

The Flash Charging Team plays a critical role in accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles by developing and expanding BYD's fast and ultra-fast charging ecosystem across Indonesia. The team is responsible for identifying strategic charging opportunities, building partnerships with key stakeholders, and ensuring customers have convenient and reliable access to charging infrastructure.
Working closely with internal teams including Sales, Aftersales, Network Development, Product Planning, Engineering, and Government Relations, the Flash Charging Team supports BYD's long-term vision of creating a comprehensive EV ecosystem. The team collaborates with property developers, commercial partners, utility providers, charging operators, and government institutions to deploy charging solutions that enhance customer experience and strengthen BYD's market competitiveness.
