Responsibilities
What you'll do...
- Lead Ford Performance sports car motorsports programs including:
- Vehicles: Mustang GT3, Mustang GT4, Dark Horse R, LMDh
- Series: IMSA, WEC, SRO, DTM, VLN, others
- Lead cross-functional technical team, including internal Ford employees and multiple partner organizations to win races and championships that matter
- Lead interface with key partners: Multimatic, M-Sport, Watson, many others
- Lead interface with series and sanctioning bodies as listed above
- Lead technology flow from sports car racing into Ford vehicle programs
- Lead sports car motorsports cycle plan
- Clearly communicate project strategy and vision to team members and stakeholders
- Lead coordination, integration, and any testing activities
- Deliver programs on time and within budget
- Operate with an iterative and agile mindset, be innovative in your approach
- Manage multiple projects using through strong organizational skills and great communication
- Lead and report out on critical problem resolution
- Lead appropriate Prevent Recurrence actions
- People development and career development, provide appropriate leadership to matrix reports
Qualifications
You'll have...
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- 5+ years experience in either Vehicle Engineering, Powertrain, or Chassis
- 6+ years motorsport orientated responsibilities including interface with competition teams, sanctioning bodies, race series
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams to success (winning)
- Able to make balance and make decisions across attributes and functions to maximize total performance
- Exceptional ability to lead problem resolution in the fast-paced motorsports environment with many speed/reliability improvements required every week
- Demonstrated strong technical, people and communication skills
- Ability to travel and work weekends
- Able to manage multiple issues on multiple programs effectively and efficiently
- Effective coaching and mentoring skills
This person must be:
- A complete self-starter, must be creative and be able to work under pressure
- A strong technical engineering, program leadership and organizational skills are required for this role
- Possess a competitive spirt, can-do attitude, and interest in professional motorsports
- Possess a practical knowledge of race cars and sportscar competition
- Strong leader with ability to work with multiple partners and suppliers, and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with high responsibility
- Flexibility and willingness to travel, including weekend travel
- Working knowledge and experience of vehicle performance, and motorsport.
- Proven delivery and under compressed high pressure timelines
- Excellent communication skills
- Motorsports Experience at any level
