Ford Performance is seeking a highly experienced and driven Engineering Program Supervisor to lead the strategic planning, development, and execution of our demonstrator vehicle programs. This role requires a strategic thinker with proven leadership and project management skills, a strong understanding of vehicle engineering, and the ability to manage the development of new demonstrator projects with internal and external partners. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall success of the demonstrator vehicle program, ensuring credible tech transfer and alignment with Ford Performance's goals & objectives.
This role is onsite 5 days per week in Allen Park, MI.
Responsibilities
What you'll do…
Strategic Planning & Vision:
- Develop, get approved and execute a comprehensive strategic 5-year plan for the current demonstrator vehicle fleet including defining new vehicle opportunities all aligning with Ford Performance's overall objectives.
- Identify opportunities to leverage demonstrator vehicles to showcase Ford's technology, innovation, and performance capabilities whilst supporting credible tech transfer.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform demonstrator vehicle strategy.
- Develop and maintain a roadmap for future demonstrator vehicle projects.
Project Management & Execution:
- Lead multiple concurrent projects.
- Mentor and motivate team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Lead the development of new demonstrator vehicle projects from concept to completion, defining the project scope and ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
- Manage budgets, track project financials, and provide regular status reports to senior management.
- Manage project teams, including engineers, internal and external stakeholders.
- Implement and maintain robust project management methodologies and tools.
Technical Oversight & Expertise:
- Provide technical guidance and oversight to project teams, ensuring engineering excellence and innovation.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in automotive technologies with a bias towards EV technologies and performance engineering.
- Evaluate new technologies and concepts for potential application in demonstrator vehicles.
- Ensure compliance to championship, series, race, event organization regulations and in line with latest safety standards from organizations such as the FIA.
Stakeholder Management & Communication:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including engineering and marketing teams, to ensure alignment and support for demonstrator vehicle projects.
- Manage relationships with external partners, including suppliers, sponsors, and event organizers.
Performance Monitoring & Evaluation:
- Develop and implement metrics to track the performance and impact of demonstrator vehicle projects.
- Analyze data and feedback to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Prepare reports and presentations summarizing project results and recommendations.
Risk Management:
- Assess, communicate project status, risks, and issues to management in a clear and concise manner.
- Develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize risks.
Qualifications
You'll have…
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Automotive, or related field) required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in automotive engineering or motorsport industry, with a focus on vehicle development or performance engineering.
- Willingness to travel internationally and domestically, including weekends.
- Valid passport required.

- Proven track record of successful project management, including experience managing complex projects with cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of vehicle engineering principles, including chassis design, powertrain development, and vehicle dynamics.
- Knowledge of electric vehicle technology and development is preferred.
- Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to quickly build trust and establish credibility.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to motivate and inspire project teams.
- Experience with project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Proficiency in financial analysis and budget management.
