In this position...
As a Ford Pro Charging Applications Engineer, you will interact and evaluate internal and external customers’ needs to support their positive EV charging experience. This requires strong communication skills to effectively interface with both customer and internal technical teams. This position will be directly involved in evaluation of new and legacy charging products and associated competitive analysis.
Responsibilities
What you'll do...
- Develop in-depth technical knowledge of Ford Pro Charging products and software functions.
- Act as technical liaison between customers, hardware, customer experience and software development teams.
- Collect customer/end user feedback to recommended features, functions and strategies related to electric vehicle charging, site infrastructure, energy management, and energy services related technologies.
- Support charging product technical requirement and specification developments.
Successful Candidate
- Act as a Ford Pro Charging technical expert.
- Strong interest in “systems” engineering with a constant curiosity around wanting to understand the technical interaction between electrical, mechanical and controls systems.
- Self-motivated individual with a passion for technical systems (electrical, hardware and controls)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable managing technical customer support activity.
- Participation in product DFMEA reviews.
- Lead product root cause fault analysis.
- Develop test and validation recommendations related to detected product reliability gaps.
- Evaluate customer operational data to support technical recommendations.
- Participate in product roadmap planning.
- Submit product &/or engineering change requests.
Qualifications
You'll have...
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering or related field of study with relevant experience
- 3+ years of EV charging or relevant electrical systems development &/or testing. (AC & DC EVSE’s)
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering.
- 3+ years of EV charging systems development &/or testing. (AC & DC EVSE’s)
- Strong technical knowledge of communication systems and power conversion technology.
- Experience with relevant SAE, UL and IEEE charging and safety standards.
- Ability to work autonomously
- Well organized with high attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities
- Strong interest in continuous learning opportunities.

This position is a range of salary grades 7-8 .
