As a key member of the Aftertreatment, Emissions, and Advanced Propulsion Systems Engineering team within Vehicle Propulsion Systems Engineering (VPSE), you will provide technical leadership to the aftertreatment/emissions and the commodity calibration teams with the goal of delivering robust aftertreatment calibrations. This is a hybrid role both onsite and remote.
Responsibilities
In this position...
- Provide global technical leadership for GPF & Exhaust Aftertreatment Feature Controls and Calibration with the goal of providing robust aftertreatment systems for Ford products.
- Develop/Maintain existing feature documentation and ensure that current process documentation reflects latest best practices and lessons learned.
- Process documentation includes calibration guides, vehicle verification guides, design verification plan (DVP), design verification report (DVR), FSMS requirements, Corporate Engineering Test Procedures, Calibration Rules Check, and Additional Parameter Restrictions (APRs).
- Support the VPSE Aftertreatment and Emissions team to ensure all powertrains meet emissions targets.
What You'll Do…
- Serve as mentor/coach for calibrators and guide feature related issue resolution. Coordinate with VPSE Aftertreatment and Hardware Design exhaust teams to ensure design requirements for feature control capabilities are satisfied.
- Work with Aftertreatment D&R team to address program needs and resolve concerns.
- Work with Aftertreatment analysts to develop/maintain aftertreatment related design guides and requirements to reflect the latest best practices and lessons learned.
- Develop new and innovative techniques to continuously improve feature calibration tools, optimize data analysis and improve calibration efficiency.
Qualifications
You'll have...
- BS in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience of Engine Calibration experience.
- 10+ years working within Ford’s Powertrain product development system and familiarity with GPDS process.
- Strong understanding of powertrain calibration, emission controls and control system design.
- Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
