In this position...
Product Development Operations and Quality team is looking for a Feature Calibration Engineer - Torque. We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about continuous learning, problem solving and technical leadership. The candidate must demonstrate strong collaborative skills, process discipline and stay focused on delivering to customer needs with emphasis on documentation.
- Provide technical support for Torque Estimation/Deliver/Limits for vehicle propulsion systems calibration to deliver powertrain attributes.
- Support calibration workgroup (via Cal PAT meeting) to ensure calibration commonality among powerpack applications.
- Serve as mentor/coach for feature and commodity calibrators and guide issue resolution.
Responsibilities
What you'll do...
- Develop new and innovative techniques to continuously improve quality, reduce cost, meet program timing, and improve calibration efficiency.
- Support interface meetings to ensure proper alignment between hardware, calibration, and program targets.
- Support the use of the latest calibration tools and methods (GTDM, eKPIs, DYNOCAL, etc.).
- Support calibration guide updates and improvements to reflect latest best practices & lessons learned, and develop/maintain assigned calibration guides.
- Support in-vehicle or lab data acquisition using ATI and other systems as required to support calibration development and signoff including test trips.
Qualifications
You'll have...
- B.S. in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or similar engineering degree
- 3+ years experience in powertrain Calibration engineering.
- In-depth background and knowledge of the powertrain calibration development process.
- Proficient in powertrain controls software use and development.
- Proficient in powertrain calibration and systems interactions (engine, transmission, mapping/PTDyno, fuel economy, emissions, drivability, OBD, etc).
Even better, you may have...
- Master's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or similar engineer degree·
- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and innovative behaviors.
- Understanding of Torque estimation and actuation methodologies.
- Capable of presenting complex technical information in an effective, clear and concise manner.
- Have consistently demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills.

This position is a range of salary grades 6 - 8 .
