Your Responsibilities
As a
Cloud Software Engineer for John Deere in Austin, TX, you will:
- Develop, test and ship web-based applications; Support enterprise-wide build and deploy systems;
- Work directly with software developers around the enterprise to fix their issues;
- Capability to evangelize developer experience products in large communities of developer.
- Up to 10% domestic travel required. Must live within normal commuting distance of the worksite. Up to 40% remote work allowed.
What Skills You Need
- 3 years of experience in test, build, and ship products that increase developer experience
- 4 years of experience in test, build, and ship web-based applications using programming languages including one of the following Java, JavaScript and Python
- 2 years of experience in Extreme Programming (XP, Pairing, Small increments)
- 3 years of experience in test, build, and ship products with cloud-based applications and with knowledge of cloud platforms, Amazon Web Services on various cloud-based services including compute, storage, databases, analytics networking and serverless offerings
- 4 years of experience with automated cloud-based deployments using Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines in cloud environments Jenkins, Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions
- 2 years of experience in enterprise level support experience for large systems (Jenkins and GitHub)
- 2 years of experience in build and manage containerized applications, ensuring scalability and reliability using Docker
- 2 years of experience in build and monitor dashboards to optimize cloud resources and services for performance, scalability, and cost using Grafana
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related field plus 4 years related experience.
