What To Expect
Tesla Infrastructure Development Team is looking for an innovative Electrical Engineer to join the Infrastructure Engineering team. The electrical engineer/designer is responsible to support engineering design and construction of Tesla infrastructure projects. This position requires an experienced and competent individual capable of successfully solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
What You'll Do
Design and review electrical system infrastructure design with following deliverables: Single line diagram, panel schedule, grounding, power and lighting plan, and EV charging design Responsible to review electrical deliverables with respect to code compliances and ensure every design maintains the highest level of quality Analyze and review power system study (short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and load flow study) Conduct field investigations and prepare due diligence report and develop concept design documentation. Participate in on-field construction activities by serving as the point of contact for technical questions and real-time issue resolution Coordinate with internal Charging and Energy resources to collaborate for EV charging initiatives and renewable energy (Solar PV & Battery Storage) Work with various design, construction, workplace managers, EHS and Procurement to understand the end user needs and deliver results that meet the collective team’s needs Resolve design issues creatively and thoroughly coordinating design with other disciplines Develop and improve project workflows and standards to ensure each design is consistently excellent. Provide value engineering and recommendations to increase cost efficiencies without impacting the integrity of design
What You'll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience 4+ years work experience in commercial and industrial sector Clear understanding and working knowledge International Building Code, International Energy Conservation Code, applicable NFPA standards (NFPA 70, 70E, 72 and 101 are required; understanding of additional applicable codes are a plus) Proficiency designing electrical & power distribution systems in Revit. Experienced in coordinating with Utility for transformer/power upgrades and primary/secondary service infrastructure Performed electrical engineering study & breaker settings (EasyPower, SKM, ETAP). Performed electrical lighting calculations (photometrics and comcheck). Ability to understand and coordinate requirements needed for low-voltage system (IT, Security, AV, etc.) Completion of the FE exam. PE registration is a plus Ability to travel
