What To Expect
Tesla’s Robotics Software Engineering team designs and develops robotic controls and fleet management systems for manufacturing, material flow, and logistics use cases. This includes managing Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRSs), conveyor systems, and the potential integration of Optimus on the factory floor.
This role will support the Robotics SE team as part of the PMO, offering an exciting opportunity to drive real impact at the intersection of robotics, software, and data, ensuring project alignment with broader timelines, stakeholder communication, and execution. Strong data analytics skills are essential for assessing robot fleet performance, generating insights, and creating dashboards for engineers and leadership. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise, program management skills, and a data-driven mindset to optimize execution and decision-making. Strong engineering and project management fundamentals are required to work in a demanding and fast-paced environment as part of a strong, flexible, and highly motivated team to accomplish some of the most ambitious projects being attempted in any industry today.
The team operates in Fremont, CA, and Austin, TX, with frequent travel to Tesla factories worldwide.
What You'll Do
Project Tracking & Risk Management: Maintain a clear overview of all ongoing projects, identify risks early, and drive mitigation strategies. Clearly communicate priorities cross functionally and ensure product expectations are alignedData Analytics & Impact Assessment: Analyze robotic fleet performance, assess product impact, and translate findings into actionable insights with easy visualization of data Product Readiness & Testing: Understand requirements, prepare a long-term vision for product validation and evaluate the product’s performance through testing to ensure its readiness for production Process Optimization: Continuously refine program management processes to enhance productivity, collaboration, and execution speed. Be ready and willing to pivot as needed keeping in mind engineering preferences
What You'll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science Engineering, Management Information Systems or equivalent experience2+ years technical experience in program or project management preferably in robotics and automation Hands on experience with data analytics using relational and time-series databases such as SQL and Prometheus, as well as visualization platforms like Grafana, to create meaningful dashboards Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills Ability to synthesize complex technical information into clear, concise reports and presentations Strong understanding of software development processes, tools, and experience with one or more high-level and low-level programming languages
