Work Arrangement
Hybrid: This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Global Technical Center - Estes Engineering Center in Warren, Michigan, three times per week, at minimum.
The Role
We are seeking self-motivated and innovative candidates to join our team as a Battery Cell and Module Test Engineer in the GM EV space. In this role, you will focus on correlation and data analytics for Battery Cells and Battery Modules. You will be responsible for leading efforts to identify correlations between test data from various sources, including Joint Ventures, GM Battery Cell Plants, and GM RESS Plants, to facilitate the early detection of defective battery cells.
Key responsibilities include developing algorithms and test processes, as well as executing and deploying your findings and improvements across multiple EV plants. This position is critical in driving data-driven decision-making and enhancing early detection processes within our operations.
What You'll Do
- Analysis of Battery Cell formation and test data from different sources and types of data (OCV, ACIR, etc).
- Review warranty data from Vehicle for cell related failures and investigate and develop and early detection process/method
- Coordinate work with different groups such as R&D/Product Engineering/Data Analytics.
- Evaluate, develop and implement new Test Process and/or methods of early cell failure detection.
- Determine and analyze findings and root cause of cell failures, provide feedback on such findings to Cell/Module Process team.

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- 3+ Years Experience in Manufacturing
- 3+ Years Practical Experience on Battery Manufacturing and Test
- 3+ Years Practical Experience on Battery Cell Test Process
- Basic understanding of Data Acquisition Systems
- Medium to High level of comprehension on DC circuits
- Powertrain Component and Process Familiarity/experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering related discipline or equivalent experience

- Bauer Test System
- Battery Test procedures (OCV, ACIR, DCIR, Hi Pot)
