What To Expect
Tesla’s Commercial Energy business is scaling fast across APAC. We’re looking for an EHS professional who thrives at the intersection of safety and commercial growth: someone who can sit with Business Development, shape winning bids, and turn complex WHS and electrical safety requirements into clear, confident commercial positions.
This is not a site EHS or auditing role. You’ll operate as a strategic partner to the commercial function: influencing deals early, strengthening proposals, and building the playbooks and tools that help us win and deliver consistently.
Frequent regional travel and occasional international travel are required. Based in Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane (or willing to relocate).
What You'll Do
Establish global EHS contract guidance (upstream and downstream), with an APAC lens, to reduce sco Review contracts to confirm EHS requirements are understood, achievable, and regulatorily alignedDevelop and maintain enablement resources (playbooks, templates, guidance documents) so business development and project managers can respond consistently and effectively to RFPsPartner with APAC business development to understand growth strategies, customer needs, and EHS risks, and contribute to proposals, presentations, and partnership strategies (with secondary EMEA support)Support complex or one-off customer requests, including program modifications, information, and clarificationsBuild and strengthen strategic relationships with APAC clients through clear, proactive communicationMaintain deep knowledge of Tesla's Commercial Energy products, services, and market positioningSupport continual improvement of Tesla's contractor management framework, with focus on APAC operations
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in an EHS-related field, or equivalent experience Minimum 5 years' progressive EHS experience, preferably in APAC-based rolesExperience supporting bids, RFPs, or customer contract reviews from an EHS perspectiveExperience in electric power generation, transmission, storage, or distribution, ideally in APAC marketsStrong knowledge of APAC EHS regulations and electrical safety standards (e.g. Australian WHS, AS/NZS)Excellent communication and stakeholder skills across APAC cultures and time zonesStrong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and capacity to prioritise in a fast-paced global environment
Nice to have
Working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70E, IEEE, and NECFamiliarity with EHS frameworks in the United States, Canada, Mexico, South America, and/or EMEAExperience building bid playbooks, contract guidance, or other commercial enablement toolsExperience contributing to contractor management frameworks in energy or infrastructure projects
