About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Payroll & Benefits Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll administration and employee benefits processes while ensuring full compliance with Mexican labor, tax, and social security regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process biweekly payroll accurately and within established deadlines.
- Calculate payroll taxes, deductions, bonuses, commissions, severance payments, and other compensation components.
- Manage payroll incidents, including absences, vacations, overtime, disabilities, employee registrations, and terminations.
- Ensure compliance with Mexican labor laws, tax regulations, and social security obligations.
- Prepare and reconcile payroll reports, accounting provisions, and payroll-related accruals.
- Administer employee registrations, modifications, and terminations before IMSS.
- Coordinate and administer employee benefits programs.
- Support internal and external audits related to payroll and benefits.
- Reconcile payroll information with Finance and Accounting departments.
- Generate reports and analyses regarding payroll costs, headcount, and compensation trends.
- Maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and accuracy of employee information.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and internal controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (highly preferred), Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- 3 years of experience processing payroll in a corporate environment.
- Proven experience managing payroll incidents, benefits administration, and payroll reconciliations.
- Experience handling payroll audits and compliance requirements.
Strong knowledge of:
- ISR calculations and payroll tax reporting, IMSS regulations and administrative processes, INFONAVIT and FONACOT administration, SUA platform administration, Payroll reporting and reconciliations, Employee benefits administration, Mexican labor law compliance, Payroll systems and ERP platforms.
