We bring engineering ideas to life. The Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) team seeks to create magical experiences by making driving more exciting, enjoyable and sustainable. We are responsible for designing and developing embedded software that supports Best in Class features like BlueCruise, Pro-Trailer Backup Assist, Pro-Trailer Hitch Assist, and many others.
We are seeking a seasoned embedded software development professional who can contribute to our efforts in developing our current and next-generation ADAS features and platforms. The successful candidate will have a deep knowledge of C++ and a background in real-time, multi-threaded embedded software development. We are solving hard problems! These include creating efficient, high-performance code, dealing with system resource constraints, and meeting strict code quality standards.
Responsibilities
What you'll do…
- Create formal High-level Design (HLD) and Detailed Design (DD) documents based on cascaded requirements
- Develop embedded C++ software and unit tests
- Leverage embedded operating systems and middlewares to produce efficient code
- Flash embedded code to an automotive ECU and run/debug on target
- Support vehicle tests when needed
- Work with Test, DevOps, and Architecture teams to ensure our deliverable code is designed, built, and tested to meet requirements
- Actively function within a structured, Agile software development environment
Qualifications
You'll have…
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or similar field of study
- 3+ years of experience in software/firmware development using C++. (Please understand this is not a role for a C programmer with a little bit of C++ experience. Deep knowledge of C++ on embedded targets will be critical to succeed in this role.)
- 3+ years of experience designing and testing embedded systems for high performance, high reliability computing applications
Even better, you may have…
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or similar field of study
- 7+ years of experience with embedded software design and development for automotive, industrial, or aerospace/military applications with proven success in a fast-paced, cross-functional engineering team environment
- Experience developing software which meets functional safety requirements
- Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies
- Experience with embedded RTOS(s)
- Experience with automotive middleware, including Classic AUTOSAR and Adaptive AUTOSAR
- Experience with code optimization
- Proficient in scripting languages, such as bash and Python
- Knowledge of SPI, Ethernet and CAN communication
- Familiarity with sensor modalities used in robotics and autonomous driving applications (Camera/Vision, RADAR, LIDAR, INS/IMU)

This position is a range of salary grades GSR 7-8.
