Ford Motor Company operates a worldwide manufacturing and distribution network in over 150 countries that requires the cross-border movement of parts and vehicles. Operations and classification data is maintained for all Ford materials and shipments.
The global trade environment is increasingly more complex and difficult to predict. A Customs Operations Manager enables the team to move parts and vehicles across borders in an efficient and cost-effective manner while ensuring the highest levels customs compliance. A Customs Operations manager leverages data and technology solutions to monitor business performance and drive process efficiencies.

You will manage Ford’s global classification and export processes while overseeing the roll-out of automated customs solutions as an integral part of the Ford Customs Strategy.
Responsibilities
What You Will Do…
- Manage Ford’s global classification processes
- Standardize North America and global customs processes leveraging innovative automated solutions
- Oversee export filing operations and AES compliance
- Oversee management of customs systems maintenance
- Implement and manage data analytics tools
- Work with cross-functional groups and customs service providers
Qualifications
You'll have...
- Bachelor’s degree
- 10+ Years of International Trade/Customs Experience
- U.S. Customs Broker License
Even better, you may have...
- Experience with the implementation of Global Trade Management (GTM) software
- Experience in U.S. and Canadian customs cross-border operations and customs regulations
- Knowledge of how to coordinate business/IT requirements for a Customs Compliance function
- Familiarity with the automotive manufacturing field
- Experience with U.S. export census/AES reporting requirements
- Prior involvement in testing of GTM solutions / Business requirements
- Knowledge of customs HTS/schedule B classification assignment methodology and quality control
- Experience designing leading and lagging metric dashboard tools
