Why this role matters
At Siemens Energy Charlotte, your machining expertise will shape parts for Steam Turbine, Large Generator, Gas Turbine, and Combustion Components. You’ll work in a climate-controlled environment on equipment that powers low-emission, reliable energy around the world.
What you will do
- Set up and run CNC equipment for multi-operation work: horizontal boring machines, 5-axis mills, and laser drilling systems
- Execute bonding and heat-treatment steps; supplement with manual machining and precision hand tools as needed
- Read/interpret complex blueprints, sketches, and spec sheets; choose tooling and process sequencing
- Load and unload using jib/B/C cranes and forklifts; comply with all Siemens operating procedures
- Lift/move materials up to 50 lbs, maintain strict quality records, and perform advanced metrology

- Mon–Thurs: 5:30am–4:00pm
- Mon–Thurs: 4:00pm–2:30am
- Fri–Sun: 5:30am–6:00pm
- Fri–Sun: 5:30pm–6:00am
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years CNC operations experience (machining); laser applications experience required; coating machines preferred
- Fork truck/crane license (active) or ability to obtain immediately upon selection
- Ability to obtain ACT® WorkKeys® National Career Readiness Certificate (Silver Level or higher); Siemens Energy will schedule testing upon shortlisting
- Proficiency in CNC setup/operation, part handling, QA compliance, complex measurement, interpreting intricate drawings, and strong shop math
- Capable of wearing a respirator and passing the Process Operator Competency Test
- Must pass standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests
