Ultium Cells, LLC. is a joint venture Lithium-ion automotive battery cell manufacturing plant between LG Energy Solution, Ltd., and General Motors. This high-technology plant is a new construction that has the latest in battery cell manufacturing technology. This $2.3 billion investment is among the largest battery cell manufacturing plants in the world. Ultium Cells produces battery cells for General Motors’ North American electric vehicle applications.

Job Description
This position covers a wide range of responsibilities. You will be expected to be a problem-solver and able to collaborate with various departments to achieve success. These responsibilities are but not limited to payroll, benefits, HRIS, employee relations and administrative tasks.
Primary Responsibilities
- First point of contact for employee questions regarding Payroll, Benefits, Policies and Procedures and know when to escalate using efficient problem solving skills
- Prepare and process weekly and monthly payroll in an accurate and timely manner
- Using ADP WFN to manage and maintain employee files with payroll, employee benefits, time and attendance, PTO system implementation for compliance and accuracy
- Ensure legal compliance for all state, local, and federal requirements
- Process new hire information into HR systems during orientation ensuring onboarding is completed by end of first week
- Work with Finance on requests and invoices within the HR department
- Prepare year end filings including W2’s, taxes, reconciliation, and amendments
- Participate in new hire orientation to successfully onboard and train new employees on HR policies and practices including ADP WFN
- Responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining timekeeping system implementation of time clocks in plant
- Lead system implementation of ADP WFN and collaborate with colleagues to improve processes
- Complete employment verifications for full-time and part-time employees
- Process expatriate payroll
- Prepare and administer 401k data and audits
- Prepare and assist with internal and external audits
- Process and verify all mandatory and voluntary deductions, including child support orders and garnishments
- Other duties as assigned
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or, Business – related field preferred
Skills
- Knowledge of multi-state payroll processing and benefits
- 3+ years of experience with payroll, benefits, tax reporting and HRIS
- Problem-solving skills and ability to communicate in an effective and timely manner
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to changes
- Strong organizational skills

Upon hire, employee will receive initial Environmental training over RCRA, SWPPP, SPCC, and emergency escalation. Annual refresher training will be completed every year after to fulfill the requirements of 40 CFR. Other training to be provided as required.
