Ultium Cells, LLC. is a joint venture Lithium-ion automotive battery cell manufacturing plant between LG Energy Solution, Ltd., and General Motors. This high-technology plant is a new construction that has the latest in battery cell manufacturing technology. This $2.3 billion investment is among the largest battery cell manufacturing plants in the world. Ultium Cells produces battery cells for General Motors’ North American electric vehicle applications.

Position Description
The Business Planner is responsible for the comprehensive management of key performance indicators (KPIs)
across production efficiency, product quality, cost control, and financial performance.
This role involves analyzing operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, ensuring
that the company meets its strategic targets.
In addition, the Business Planner manages capital investments and budgeting processes, prioritizing projects
based on potential return and alignment with corporate objectives.
Key responsibilities include preparing detailed reports, forecasting investment, tracking investment impacts,
and operational excellence and continuously optimizing resource allocation to maximize profitability
Key Responsibilities
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on business trends and insights.
Monitor each team's productivity and provide guidance on production metrics ; analyzing gaps and implementing improvements
Assist in the development of annual and quarterly business goals.
Prepare weekly and monthly business reviews and executive reports to key stakeholders
Resource management and planning (Headcount, Investment Budget, Equipment, Engineer allocation)
Communication with various functions within the Ultium Cells as well as the JV parent companies (GM and LG Energy Solutions).
Synchronize information flow between multiple IT systems(GMES, GDW, GSCM, ERP, WMS, etc.)
Production capacity management (Capacity Allocation, facility improve investment, building new line, LOB management, etc)
Defining appropriate Inventory stock level and checking the observance of inventory operation policy
Recommend viable solutions to reduce production costs as well as improve production processes and product quality
Set up monthly investment committee with Production, Equipment, Inspection, Quality, PI and Facility Teams
Assist with the CAPEX budget preparation, financial planning and Monthly Rolling Forecast update
Assist functional teams with budget questions and provide guideline on investment process
Adhere to company standards and production policies to meet company objectives
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering (Industrial engineering, Mechanical, Electronic, Chemical, Material, etc.)
Strong interest in automotive industry and basic understanding of manufacturing process
Strong written and oral communication skill
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Ability to work cross-functionally
Strong computer skills required, Excel, PowerPoint, and Manufacturing Legacy System
Preferred Qualifications
3 ~ 5 years of experience in automotive industry
Supply chain or manufacturing operation experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong in detail and understanding of multiple metrics
Bilingual in Korean and English highly preferred
High attention to detail and willingness to engage in manual work if needed, such as inventory verification
