Role SummaryAbout the Role and the EHS Team:
The Plymouth-based Commercial Regional Safety Partner provides regional safety leadership and support for a growing portfolio, including Parts Distribution Centers (PDC), Micro Distribution Centers (MDC), Remanufacturing, Charging, Service Centers, and Retail Spaces across multiple states in Rivian’s Eastern Region. This is a Non-Manufacturing EHS Role. This will not support Rivian’s Normal Plant.
This role will ensure compliance and the safe launch of new sites, overseeing safety operations and addressing the diverse risks and regulations of each operational area through specialized safety programs. Reporting to the Senior Commercial Safety Manager, this integral EHS Team member collaborates with internal departments to foster employee engagement and act as a key communication link for sustainability, safety, and environmental matters. This position is critical for proactively managing risk, maintaining a strong and scalable safety culture, and supporting continued operational growth, especially with additional sites scheduled to launch in 2025 and 2026.
ResponsibilitiesWhat This Role Will Do:
Stay Open: Seek to understand the unique risks of each function and location
Complete the necessary inspections of properties, and operations are carried out to ensure that EHS risk and opportunities are escalated and mitigated appropriately.
Assure compliance with all applicable OSHA, RCRA, NPDES, EPA, federal, state, local and health regulation requirements at multiple locations.
Act as the Primary Trainer
Ensure Emergency Response plans remain current
Ensure adequate recordkeeping and document management is maintained at the site level according to regulations and/ or to the extent deemed necessary by the organization in order to
demonstrate fulfillment of regulatory requirements and/ or the needs and expectations of interested parties.
Coordinate Waste Management Activity and Compliance
Communicate, implement, and maintain EHS processes and programs to ensure that all applicable safety, occupational health, and environmental compliance programs are in place and functioning properly.
Ensure all Blind spot, near miss, incident, injury, and illness information is captured and that investigations are conducted to discover root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent further incidents.
QualificationsRequired:
Experience: At least 3 years of experience is needed for this role.
Education: Associates Degree in EHS or similar related area of study and/ or
Travel:
Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or similar relevant industry
professional certification or specialization.
Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations (primary), with a working knowledge of DOT, substance abuse, and workers’ compensation programs. Strong leadership, emotional intelligence, and management skills required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be self-motivated and organized
Preferred:
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Serenity or other EHS Management Systems is highly desirable.
Proficient in Google Suite is highly preferred.
Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Must collaborate effectively cross functionally.
Willingness to work extended or non-standard shifts.
Ability to Educate others on hazard identification and control solutions.

Pay DisclosureSalary Range for Rivian Applicants: $89,900 to $112,400
Note: Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law.
