Role SummaryWe are looking for an experienced Finance Manager, Facilities to lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic reporting for Rivian’s global facilities operations and Central Services teams. This high-impact role will directly support the financial performance of our growing network of manufacturing plants, offices, and retail hubs. The ideal candidate brings strong capital planning expertise, experience supporting large-scale infrastructure programs, and a collaborative mindset to help Rivian scale efficiently and intentionally.

Partner Across Functions: Work cross-functionally with Operations, Real Estate, Legal, and People teams.
Responsibilities- Strategic Financial Partnership: Collaborate closely with leaders across Facilities, Operations, and Real Estate to align financial strategies with company growth and operational objectives. Act as a trusted financial advisor on all matters related to facilities spending, capital expenditure, and operational efficiency, while also supporting other Central Services functions as needed.
- Investment Analysis & Strategic Projects: Support the development of comprehensive investment cases for facilities projects, including new plant construction, significant retrofits, infrastructure upgrades, and sustainability initiatives. This includes detailed analysis of process optimization, technology enhancements, and workforce planning, with potential application to other strategic projects within Central Services.
- Process Optimization & Data-Driven Decision Making: Direct efforts to leverage financial and operational data in identifying, prioritizing, implementing, and measuring process improvements within Facilities and Central Services. Strengthen controls, drive standardization, and ensure financial processes scale effectively with our expansion.
- Financial Management & Controls: Design, implement, and manage accounting and financial processes specifically tailored to support operational areas like capital expenditures, operational expenses, maintenance, and utility management within Facilities, and apply these robust controls to other relevant areas of Central Services.
- Risk & Opportunity Assessment: Advise leadership on key financial risks and opportunities impacting facilities performance, including energy costs, real estate market fluctuations, construction project overruns, and maintenance efficiencies. Provide actionable insights to enhance decision-making and accountability across Facilities and Central Services.
- Performance Reporting: Develop and deliver insightful financial reports to senior leadership focusing on Facilities and Central Services performance, including key performance metrics, budget-to-actuals analysis, capital project tracking, and forecast variances, to drive transparency and efficiency.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
5–8 years of progressive experience in finance, with exposure to facilities, real estate, or construction programs.
Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking for capital and operational expenditures.
Proven ability to partner with cross-functional teams to drive alignment and shared accountability.
Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems, and EPM tools such as Oracle Cloud EPM.
Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
MBA, CPA, or advanced finance certification.
Experience working in a manufacturing, EV, or high-growth industrial environment.
Demonstrated success in implementing process improvements or cost optimization strategies.
Pay DisclosureSalary Range for Irvine, CA based applicants: $137,800 - $172,200 annually (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location and other factors permitted by law).
