InCharge Energy is seeking a
Technical Training Manager to lead the creation, delivery, and administration of training programs for electric vehicle (EV) charging technicians. Based at our Santa Ana, CA facility, this hands-on role is central to preparing the next generation of EV specialists. Reporting to the Executive Director and working closely with our Training team, you'll deliver classroom and lab-based training sessions focused on EV charging systems, foundational electrical theory, and safety standards.
You'll develop curriculum content, assess trainee progress, and ensure the programs evolve in line with emerging technologies and industry regulations. This is a unique opportunity to shape technician training at the forefront of clean transportation.
What You'll Do
- Develop training materials including instructional guides, technical manuals, assessments, and safety procedures using content from OEMs and industry sources
- Teach regulatory standards such as NFPA 70, OSHA, and lift safety in both classroom and hands-on settings
- Deliver EVSE technician training, including electrical theory, transformer systems, electrical panels, and safety protocols
- Conduct in-person training sessions and administer tests, quizzes, and hands-on evaluations to measure trainee progress and retention
- Track training effectiveness, analyze feedback, and continuously update program content
- Coordinate with management and cross-functional teams to identify training needs and align programs with operational goals
- Promote training opportunities internally and externally, supporting communication efforts and course awareness
- Maintain and utilize a Learning Management System (LMS) to organize course content and track student progress
Your Experience & Capabilities
- 5+ years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician, Electrical Technician, Control Technician, or Electrical Contractor, or equivalent experience with a degree in Electrical Engineering
- 2+ years of experience designing and delivering technical training programs, ideally for apprentices or EVSE technicians
- Experience using LMS platforms (Cornerstone preferred or similar) to manage content and student records
- Strong instructional and communication skills—able to clearly explain complex technical topics in a collaborative and inclusive learning environment
- Proven ability to manage training schedules, multiple course cycles, and continuous content development
- Demonstrated success in curriculum development from needs assessment to delivery
- Customer-focused approach with an understanding of how training supports technical teams and end-user satisfaction
- Willingness to travel up to 10–15% for remote training and coordination
Physical and Environmental Demands
- Work is performed in a combination of office, classroom, and warehouse environments
- Must be able to stand for extended periods while instructing and lift up to 50 lbs when handling equipment or setting up training areas
- May involve bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, or reaching during hands-on instruction or equipment setup
- Exposure to warehouse conditions including noise, temperature fluctuations, and active technician work areas
- Must be comfortable working around EVSE equipment, electrical panels, and high-voltage systems in a controlled training environment
- Must be comfortable independently operating a vehicle for training-related travel
- Domestic air travel required (10–15%)
US Salary Range
$100,000—$120,000 USD
