Job Description
This role is categorized as HYBRID. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Warren - Cole Engineering three times per week, at minimum. This job may be eligible for relocation benefits.
Summary Of Position
This position oversees U.S.A. Accessory Product Marketing activities for programs with homerooms in GM Korea and the Integrated Business Partner (IBP) program. In this role, the individual will assist in achieving the overall objectives related to Accessories financial metrics, driving innovation into the space, and building a strong team. The role will interact heavily with GM Korea, outside suppliers (“partners”), and other functions within the Accessory space at GM. Familiarity with the aftermarket accessories industry, product development processes, engineering, purchasing, marketing, and customer sales is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develop and coach a team of five individuals
- Be a change agent/leader, looking for ways to take the programs to the next level in all ways (efficiency, innovation, technology, performance, etc.)
- Deep dive the IBP space to grow its financial contribution to the accessory business
- Proactively ensure the IBP program is in full compliance with all GM policies, GM procedures, and laws/regulations
- Cultivate a relationship with GM Korea leadership to ensure business operations run smoothly across teams in both the U.S.A. and Korea
- Problem solve and find solutions for roadblocks and escalations to support the team
- Work closely with other managers on team to ensure alignment on strategy, budget, innovation pipeline priorities, and team management
- Actively look for ways to empower the team in daily operations
- Analyze vehicle accessory gaps, industry trends, and well-known aftermarket brands to identify potential new products and suppliers
- Ensure all financial metrics/business cases are met throughout accessory development process
- Be a leader cross-functional to ensure optimal business outcomes across all stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Ability to model and cultivate the team culture
- Keen awareness and interest of customer needs and wants for personalization
- Knowledge of latest industry and customer trends and understanding of competitive landscape
- Ability to balance customer, brand, competitor, market trends, government regulations, organizational resources/capability, and business case inputs to make informed recommendations
- Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles – written and oral
- Ability to concisely frame issues, draw conclusions, and make recommendations to leadership
- Ability to represent team as an informed, confident, and active participant in cross-functional forums
- Ability to act as spokesperson in internal/external product presentations
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and assignments on time and with attention to detail
- Flexibility & capability to work “global hours”
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 7+ years of experience

- Familiarity with GM product and marketing systems and databases: PPC, CR/DN, VCPS, Global Information Center, Competitive Product Database, Asset Central, Global Connect
