Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren – GM Global Technical Center three times per week, at minimum or other frequency dictated by the business.
This role will oversee strategic direction as well as execution of ongoing operations necessary to manage Field Action/Warranty/Early Parts Alert inventory. Drive proactive reviews and decision making focused on mitigating risk to Customer Care & Aftersales while balancing future service needs and availability for our end customers
Oversight includes management of processes as well as supporting systems/tools used by the team to manage their on-going work:
One of the most customer dissatisfying experiences as a vehicle owner is a part or system failure early in a vehicle’s life. In GM, we have multiple groups who determine the root of the issue and then rely on the Customer Care & Aftersales Supply Chain Field Action team to support the launch of corrective actions expediently. Every project requires team members to Think Customer by considering our customers’ needs in the center of all they do. We need team members who are innovative problem solvers and risk takers to not only influence the direction of the Supply Chain Management organization, but also positively collaborate and support internal and external customers as needed to ensure successfully executed field actions. Success is defined by our team as being agile to react to changing priorities and utilizing critical data analysis along with established processes and tools that drive effective decision making.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Work with a One Team mindset with members from Supply Chain Management, Operations, Logistics, Purchasing, Brand Quality, Safety & Field Investigations, Engineering, Suppliers and CCA Field Sales teams to drive effective business decisions and supporting solutions.
- Identify and resolve issues and conflict and Be Bold to delegate tasks and responsibilities to proper personnel.
- Develop associated communication and business documents including compliance with Litigation Holds as required.
- Oversee Field Action Excess & Obsolescence and provide scrap opportunities to free up warehouse space while also mitigating the risk of part availability for Field Action Parts
- Oversee Expired Bulletins, review campaign Indicators and make adjustments as bulletins expire or adjust to active Field Actions.
- Oversee Risk Analysis Requests for end-of-life decisions on Field Action Parts. Execute All Time Buys and or Monitor Stock to conserve Inventory to prevent Buybacks.
- Oversee alignment with forecasting team with current sales trends upon completion of Field Actions.
Management Oversight:
- Oversee process execution and ensure attainment of KPI's in support of Field Action part management
- Provide day to day support to direct reports regarding problem solving and problem escalation
- Maintain positive working relationships with cross functional stakeholders from Product Management, Purchasing, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, Warehousing, and Logistics as necessary to drive win-win decisions with a sense of urgency

Additional Job Description
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, related field, or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years relevant post-graduate work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, logistics or product development
Preferred:
- Experience with Field Action/Warranty/Early Parts Alert inventory
Experience with one of the following tools:

- ARC (engineering notes)
- GFAM
- Cognos Reporting
- Service Information
- Global Warranty System
- GVS-Core
- Access (PAL, creating queries)
