Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Energy Program Management to lead and oversee project controls, estimating, construction management, and program management teams within the energy sector. This role requires a visionary leader with a proven track record in managing multidisciplinary programs, fostering high-performing teams, and delivering exceptional results across diverse industries. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of expertise, certifications, and leadership experience to drive organizational success, develop new business opportunities, and ensure stakeholder satisfaction. This role is available as a remote, hybrid, or in person role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for project controls, estimating, construction management, and program management functions within the energy sector.
- Develop and implement Program Management Offices (PMOs) and Program/Project Management Information Systems (PMIS) to optimize program execution.
- Lead multidisciplinary programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, resource optimization, and delivery of high-quality results.
- Mentor and develop high-performing teams by providing tools, knowledge, and support to foster continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Cultivate a collaborative and innovative culture that encourages skill-building and problem-solving.
- Drive program strategy, risk management, and performance monitoring to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
- Oversee resource allocation, stakeholder engagement, and program execution to exceed expectations in quality and timeliness.
- Promote organizational improvement and alignment across functional areas through hands-on leadership.
- Develop and sell program management opportunities to energy clients, leveraging expertise in the Energy, Power Generation, and Infrastructure sectors.
- Build and grow a workforce of program management professionals, ensuring the team is equipped with the skills and knowledge to meet client needs and organizational objectives.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- BS/BA and extensive experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 6 years of leadership and a focus on Project Management.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in domestic and international operations, with expertise in Energy, Power Generation, Transportation, Manufacturing, Infrastructure, and Process and Refinery industries.
- Proven track record of success as a Director of Program Management or similar leadership role.
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with PMIS tools, including Primavera P6, Primavera Risk Analysis, and TILOS Linear Scheduling Software.
- Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development, collaboration, and organizational alignment.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Preferred Skills:
- 20 years of leadership experience in domestic and international operations, with expertise in Energy, Power Generation, Transportation, Manufacturing, Infrastructure, and Process and Refinery industries.Experience in implementing and managing PMOs within the construction discipline.
- Certifications:
- Project Management Office Certified (PMOC©)
- Earned Value Management Professional (EVMP®)
- PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP)
- Certified Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and advanced project management software.
- Membership in professional organizations such as ALLPMO Network, AACEi, and PMI.
- Proven ability to develop and nurture client relationships, particularly in the energy sector, to drive business growth.
