We are seeking highly motivated individuals to tackle manufacturing challenges on both pilot and mass production lines. In this role, you will work supporting engineers to develop an advanced new product and be among the first individuals to work on cutting-edge manufacturing processes within Tesla.
This specific role focuses on characterization and metrology support for battery electrode manufacturing. You will operate in a fast-paced environment, developing multiple skills while making an immediate impact on the future of electric vehicles.

What You'll Do
Support engineering activities with offline and inline metrology system engineering and related tasks for powder/film/electrode manufacturingBe trained and operate offline metrology and characterization tools (at development stage) on samples from various manufacturing processes. Conduct measurements, analytical tests, and experimental runs on the equipment, be able to measure and record data using defined tools and software, document and report observationsInstall, maintain, test, and validate offline and inline metrology toolsImmediately report emergencies, incidents, and near misses to the engineeringSupport inline tool calibrations, monitor tool health monitoring dashboards, report and resolve tool downtime, calibration issues, and develop OCAP procedures and train production and maintenance techniciansIndependently document operating procedures and data in a standard format and cross train to be competent in multiple work areasParticipate in the continuous improvement of safety, quality, output, and tool uptime
What You'll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experienceHands-on experience in OQC, IQC, metrology and characterization for battery, semiconductor, optics, or small-scale manufacturingExperience with operating and troubleshooting manufacturing, assembly, and metrology equipmentAbility to reading and interpretation of blueprints (mechanical and electrical)Excellent at documentation and reporting processes/procedures for manufacturing, maintenance, quality controlAbility to collect, organize, and analyze process data and summarize resultsFamiliarity with metrology and characterization equipment would be a plus, with a strong desire to learn new techniques during the development stage
