Tesla’s Factory Engineering team is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to play a pivotal role in building our Texas Gigafactory. Help create and optimize the factory of the future by bringing conceptual designs to life, produce cutting-edge detailed design of HVAC and other factory utility systems that are fully integrated with manufacturing processes. This permanent, full-time position is in Austin, TX.
What You'll Do
Mechanical HVAC design engineering from conceptual design through construction administrationCoordinating with multiple disciplines to ensure projects are delivered within budget and scheduleResearch and contribute with innovative and traditional ideas to solve challenging and difficult engineering problems
What You'll Bring
3+ years’ experience designing and or construction of HVAC systemsKnowledge in chiller plant, boiler plant, ductwork, piping, HVAC, and plumbing designEIT certification required. Working towards Professional Engineer registration for Texas, passing PE exam is preferredWorking knowledge in the use of following applications Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Trane Traceand/or Carrier HAP, PipefloFamiliar with International Energy Conservation, Mechanical, Plumbing and Fire Protection Codes, NFPA standards, SMACNA duct construction standards, ACGIH Ventilation Practices, ASME, ANSI, ISO, and ASHRAE standards and fundamentalsProfessional design experience in a wide range of project types including office, mission critical/data centers, large commercial building, high tech/R&D, bio-tech/pharmaceutical and industrial is preferred
