The Opportunity
InCharge Energy is seeking a
Senior Accountant to play a key role in our accounting and finance team, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of our financial reporting. This position will oversee a broad range of responsibilities, including accounting for inventory, fixed assets, leases, payroll, and benefits, as well as managing general ledger transactions, account reconciliations, and bank reconciliations.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Accounts Payable and the month-end close process. We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running, work independently, and ask thoughtful questions when needed. Given that we are 45% owned by a publicly traded company, the ability to meet a five-day month-end close deadline is essential. Strong problem-solving skills and advanced proficiency in Excel are highly valued in this role.
What You'll Do
You'll take a hands-on role in key accounting functions, including:
- Serving as a backup and supervisor for Accounts Payable, Purchasing, and Expense Reports/Purchasing Card administration
- Recording payroll and benefits transactions
- Preparing journal entries and supporting documentation
- Managing inventory valuation monthly and reconciling quarterly physical counts to the inventory subledger
- Accounting for fixed assets, including depreciation, amortization, and property/real estate taxes
- Accounting for leases in compliance with ASC 842
- Performing monthly bank reconciliations
- Supporting the monthly close process and maintaining/reconciling general ledger accounts
- Assisting with year-end audit and tax schedule preparation
- Analyzing discrepancies and reporting issues to management
- Maintaining confidentiality of sensitive financial data
- Supporting the Controller with ad-hoc tasks and special projects
Your Experience and Capabilities
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
- 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience
- Experience with Microsoft Business Central a plus
- Familiarity with ASC 842 Lease accounting a plus
- Proficiency with Excel, including advanced formulas (e.g., XLOOKUP), PivotTables, and Power BI
- Strong problem-solving skills and a tech-savvy mindset to automate and improve processes
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Self-starter with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing process improvements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a service-oriented mindset
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively

US Salary Range
$80,000—$85,000 USD
