We are looking for a Senior Category Manager to help build the charger supply chain solutions that drive growth and scale in the Electric Vehicle (EV) space. Candidates will need to have in-depth understanding of the supply chain domain and direct experience working with engineering, product, and procurement teams to ensure we are providing the right scalable solutions. This role requires deep subject matter expertise in the supplier relationship domain and the candidate should possess a proven history of building relevant programs at scale. In this role, you will work closely with Procurement, Engineering, Business, Legal as well as Senior Leaders to bring solutions to market and evaluate opportunities for big ideas.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop winning relationships with key charging suppliers, defining success criteria, goals, and metrics for your initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with Product team to determine which products to qualify and shepherd vendors through the qualification process efficiently
- Structure contracts to include key provisions to guarantee long term product performance and reliability
- Successfully advocate for optimized solutions across functions: Product/Engineering, Design, Suppliers, Procurement and other relevant orgs
- Operate as Subject matter Expert within wider Global Fleet org for supply risks and insights and specific product requirements
- Develop mechanisms that enable rapid scaling of solutions
- Deliver regular reviews to leaders across all levels of the leadership organization and foster a shared understanding of your products, solutions, and strategies
A day in the life
- Delivery of supply chain solutions that optimize schedule, cost, and quality
- Support product development roadmaps and vendor relationship mgt
- Identifying ongoing pain points and building appropriate program improvements
- Support scalability of solutions at required pace, developing mechanisms to increase capacity
- Travel 2-3 times per month for conferences and supplier visits.
About The Team
The Supply Chain team for AMZL Energy ensures EV Infrastructure equipment is delivered to sites in time for EV launch.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree
- 5+ years of product, program or category management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- Experience with strategic sourcing
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience working directly with engineering and product teams to source products at scale
- Experience negotiating commercial deals
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineering background
- Knowledge of Electrical Infrastructure Equipment Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) best practices and product offerings.
- Knowledge of emerging electric vehicle charger technologies
- Experience in automotive and/or vehicle charging industry

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
