Summary Of Responsibilities
We are seeking to hire a group Manager – GM Energy, Direct Sales to establish and lead our direct sales team.
This role is responsible for managing the direct sales strategy, team and growth of our bi-directional home energy equipment product portfolio. This role will be responsible for driving revenue growth, building strong relationships with our GTM and delivery channels, and establishing GM Energy as a leader in the EV home energy sector. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the energy and EV markets, a proven track record in B2C sales, and strong leadership capabilities.
This position reports to the GM Energy – Head of Sales Conversion.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve and exceed sales targets, ensuring consistent revenue growth in line with company goals
- Manage, grow, and scale the GM Energy Direct Sales team
- Hire, train, and mentor a high-performing sales team (HECs), fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment
- Develop HEC performance objectives and sales strategies to meet revenue and EV attachment goals for GM Energy residential energy products
- Build and manage sales forecasts and team budgets to ensure financial goals are met
- Develop and manage sales compensation and incentive programs
- Develop and implement customer incentives in collaboration with the broader channel sales and GTM strategy
- Work with sales operations and sales enablement teams to implement sales tools and optimize the sales process
- Leverage CRM and analytics tools to maintain accurate records of sales activities, opportunities, and customer interactions
- Prepare regular reports on sales activities, pipeline status, and performance metrics for senior leadership
- Provide feedback on market trends and customer needs to guide product development and marketing campaigns
- Track and monitor the CX performance driven by the Direct Sales team to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction

Required Skills / Experience / Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field, or equivalent, relevant experience.
- 5+ years overall related sales experience.
- Demonstrated sales leadership experience required. Experience leading a direct consumer sales team preferred.
- Expert-level knowledge of EVs, EV Charging Networks, Home EV Charging products and Installation services.
- Experience within automotive sales and knowledge of automotive brand sales operations required. Knowledge of GM sales operations, a plus.
- Relentless drive for results in a complex, ever-changing environment with a high level of integrity.
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills required to build and maintain relationships across an organization.
- Experience working in a fast-paced start-up technology environment is preferred.
- Experience establishing sales performance standards and KPIs
- A prolific communicator with highly proficient presentation skills and strong verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong intellectual horsepower and proven ability to take complex technical product offerings and simply them for consumers and sales teams is required.
- Strong computer software and analytics skills, especially Microsoft Office, with particular emphasis on Microsoft Excel and the ability to take complex amounts of data and develop key insights and actions.
- Willing to travel up to 25% of the time, as necessary to execute responsibilities of the position
- A company vehicle will be provided for this role with successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Report review.
