Powertrain Controls Transmission and Driveline Manager

Responsibilities
What you'll do...
- Lead the teams designing and implementing control systems for multiple architectures (FNV2/3/4) of automatic transmission, traditional All Wheel Drive systems, and BEV torque split systems
- Guide the teams creating controls architecture solutions for new driveline technology to maintain a common code base and reusability
- Ensure control systems are designed for OBD compliance and meet all Functional Safety goals, including Range Selection and Park Controls
- Ensure all teams have a robust backlog management process and guide the prioritization of content with all stakeholders and downstream customers
- Ensure QOS adherence to achieve quality targets and support tools migration plan for all SW architectures
- Apply System Engineering principles for software development including Model Based Design standards
- Lead development of software feature / system DVMs and validation processes (MIL, SIL, HIL)
- Creation of innovative designs that are code and execution time efficient, utilizing latest industry standards
- Lead the teams to proactively utilize connected vehicle data to rapidly respond to any quality concerns that may arise while driving continuous improvement through active development with
Qualifications
You'll have...
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science, or related degree, or foreign equivalency degree, or a combination of equivalent experience and education
- 10+ years of experience Powertrain Controls experience with full understanding of Powertrain Controls Software development processes
- 10 + years of Systems engineering experience with application of Ford failure mode avoidance tools (boundary diagram, FMEA, interface matrix, etc.)
- 10+ years of experience with software process standards (Model Based Design, MISRA, SPICE, CMMI, etc.) and working knowledge of HIL / SIL processes & tools

- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science, or related degree, or foreign equivalency degree
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams in problem solving related to complex issues
- Team leader with strong collaborative decision making skills
- Strong drive for results, a sense of urgency and excellent communication skills
- Ability to develop and manage cross functional (VPSE/TDE Hardware /R&A/Chassis) relationships
- Passion for process discipline / efficiency and prevent recurrence mindset
- Ability to interpret customer expectations into requirements
- Knowledge of Powertrain Calibration and Powertrain vehicle sub-system integration desired
- Strong working knowledge of GPDS and GTDS processes and deliverables
