Tesla’s Cell Manufacturing Engineering group is looking for a highly motivated Engineering Project Manager to lead large capital projects from concept to execution. The role requires a highly organized individual that can synthesize complex, ambiguous requirements into scope/inputs for manufacturing equipment design, and factory requirements by implementing front-end engineering design methodologies.
As an Engineering Project Manager, you will join a cross-functional project engineering team responsible for the technical deliverables, schedule, budget, work packages, interface management, project risk mitigation, equipment design and contractor scopes for all aspects of engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and commissioning.
What You'll Do
This role will develop, scale-up and optimize battery manufacturing equipment, focused heavily on Calendaring, Slitting, and Coating equipment at multiple sitesResponsible for leading the full design and engineering of Tesla equipment and factory design from concept to production launchDevelops engineering project plans and secures leadership alignmentDevelops and interfaces with internal and external engineering teams, manages 3rd party vendor contracts and budgetsOwns Front-End-Engineering process for large capital projects from preliminary/concept design through detailed design and construction. Including scope definition, interface management, and cost controlLeads design reviews and manages cross-functional action items through completionDevelops project schedules, budgets, project communications and leadership reporting
What You'll Bring
Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experienceExperience managing multi-disciplinary teams within Architectural/Engineering firms or design-build firmsExperience leading engineering teams for large brown-field and green-field manufacturing projects with EPCs firms or in-house design teamsFull understanding of all engineering disciplines and ability to demonstrate skills to manage engineering resourcesProven record in delivery of IFB, IFP, and IFC packagesExperience designing manufacturing processes or equipment in healthcare, laboratory, mission critical, and site infrastructure development project typesExcellent communication skills with ability to understand complex topics/ problems and distill the message clearlyPre-Construction Project Management experience is a plusAuto-CAD or Revit experience is a plusBluebeam 2D Drawings is a plus
