What To Expect
Tesla is looking for a highly skilled Construction Manager who is passionate about our mission to join our North American R&D Infrastructure team. In this role, you will be asked to own and drive the full funding and construction efforts for various infrastructure development projects in the LA area and across the U.S. This role will supervise all on-site construction including scheduling and contracts for trade contractors, overseeing vendor tool installations, resolving day to day construction issues, performing inspections to ensure compliance with plans and specifications while tracking project schedule and budget. This role requires close collaboration with Estimating, Design, Procurement, Finance, Self-Perform, etc. teams internally to Tesla. This role requires you to be extremely detail oriented, identify real hard barriers, and drive the cross-functional teams to execute quickly at high quality. This role will support a new program and will require an entrepreneurial type of candidate who can work with a fast-paced environment and who possesses self-motivation and discipline.
What You'll Do
Primary contact for various LA-based projects, acting as interface between infrastructure team and end users, Facilities, external contractors, city officials, and Commissioning teamsDesign reviews (primarily tool utility connections and interconnections), focused on constructability opportunities and validating tool and room requirementsDevelop, communicate, and improve upon site logistics and project plans; this includes understanding construction and startup systems sequences, determining laydown requirements, negotiating scope delineations between vendor and onsite teams, planning for crane operations, and supporting equipment delivery coordinationCoordinate with the procurement team to create biddable work packages (RFP) and verify contractor bids against technical capacity, cost estimates, schedule milestonesEnsure on time, or ahead of time delivery of construction projects, enabling your teams to solve problems, meet/exceed project goals, and prioritize executionPromote a safe and quality driven culture, both project and company wideUse efficient and aesthetic communication methods to escalate roadblocks or communicate successes as necessary, including the ability to clearly communicate risks
What You'll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or equivalent experienceMinimum 10+ years of experience on large commercial or industrial construction projectsKnowledgeable on local codes and regulations and experience with Permits / City inspections Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation skills are a mustAdvanced knowledge and proven delivery on Civil, Structural, and Architectural, Mechanical, electrical, life safety and controls scopesHigh proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), and Construction Cost/Data AnalysisAbility to read, interpret, and manage changes to, awarded scopes of work and contracts, schedules, budgets and drawings, P&IDs, specifications and execution requirements

Expected Compensation
$83,600 - $205,200/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
