Who we are looking for:
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic
Quality Systems Engineer to join our growing team. The position will provide unequivocal support (and in some cases lead) the implementation and business maintenance of the quality systems (QMS and QOS) and related quality IT tools and systems for Slate. The role will work closely with all quality functions (Manufacturing and Supplier Quality), IT, other business partners, and external vendors to ensure that the QMS and QOS meet business requirements and standards. You will feel comfortable operating in a flexible and fast paced environment with a collaborative approach to achieving goals!
What you get to do:
- Lead the quality systems development, integration, and rollout for Slate, including startup, integration, validation, training, support, and continuous improvement, aligning with the business objectives and priorities.
- Coordinate the requirements, user feedback, and best practices for our QMS and QOS systems, ensuring they meet the needs and expectations of the internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with IT, other functional teams, and external vendors to ensure the quality system is reliable, secure, scalable, and aligned with policies and standards.
- Support the supplier quality, manufacturing quality, and integration processes for the QMS / QOS, ensuring they are consistent, efficient, and effective.
- Lead auditing and certification activities for ISO and IATF for Slate.
- Assist in auditing activities at suppliers as required to support the success of the organization.
- Monitor and report on the quality system performance, quality, and compliance, identifying and resolving any issues or risks.
- Provide mentorship and training to quality systems users, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
What you bring to the team:
- Bachelor's Degree in Quality, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in QMS and QOS systems management in the automotive industry, with relevant experience at both the OEM and Tier 1 Supplier level.
- Good knowledge of quality systems, processes, methods, tools and standards, such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, etc.
- Proven experience in QMS and QOS systems integration, support and validation.
- Experience as IATF, ISO, or VDA Auditor is required. Certification is preferred.
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification from the American Society of Quality (ASQ) is preferred.
