Title: Senior Electrical Engineer (Power & Analog)
Location: Canoga Park, CA; Redmond, WA;
Salary Range: $120,000 – $180,000 annually
Work Authorization: U.S. citizenship required; must be able to obtain a U.S. security clearance. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
Overview
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, analyze, and test power and analog electronics for space applications, including satellites, spacecraft, and future lunar power infrastructure.
Our converters span tens of watts to hundreds of kilowatts and include power, low‑voltage analog, high‑voltage analog, mixed‑signal, and digital control electronics. Experience across that entire range is not required.
A significant portion of this role is focused on Internal Research and Development (IRAD), exploring new topologies, architectures, and components for next‑generation space power systems.
We welcome candidates with power-conversion experience or analog/mixed-signal design backgrounds who are interested in developing their power-electronics expertise.
What you’ll do
- Design and analyze power, analog, and mixed-signal circuitry.
- Perform schematic capture, simulation, tolerance and worst-case analysis, and guide PCB layout.
- Perform initial hardware power-up, performance verification, and debugging.
- Analyze circuit behavior and stability; perform power-converter loop analysis and compensation as applicable.
- Execute IRAD tasks such as trade studies, feasibility studies, simulations, and proof‑of‑concept prototypes.
- Collaborate with firmware and FPGA engineers on digital controls; define requirements, interfaces, and support control algorithm implementation.
- Support qualification, production transition, and troubleshooting for assigned hardware.
- Participate in design reviews, document technical decisions, and provide informal mentoring and peer support.
What makes you successful here
- You enjoy learning new technologies, topologies, components, and tools.
- You communicate clearly and work effectively with other electrical engineers and cross‑functional teams (mechanical, software, systems, test).
- You are hands‑on in the lab and comfortable owning designs from whiteboard to working hardware.
Basic qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field with 6+ years of relevant experience; or
Master’s degree with 4+ years; or
10+ years of directly relevant experience in lieu of a degree. - Experience designing and analyzing electronic circuits (power or analog/mixed signal), including simulation, analysis, and testing/troubleshooting
Preferred qualifications
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Experience designing power converters or electronics, especially for demanding environments (space, aerospace, automotive, or industrial).
- Proficiency in control‑loop analysis and tuning (Gain/Phase, PID etc.)
- Familiarity with digitally controlled power converters (microcontrollers, FPGAs, or DSPs) and embedded control concepts.
