Hiring: L2 Data Center Technician
Location: Reno, NV
Work Model: 100% Onsite
Shift: Night Shift | 8:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Schedule: 4 days per week — Sunday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Saturday
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced L2 Data Center Technician with strong hands-on experience in server hardware installation, rack and stack, cabling, hardware replacement, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will support day-to-day data center operations and work closely with network and system administrators to maintain server and network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform rack and stack activities for servers and network switches.
- Install, replace, and reroute Ethernet and fiber-optic cables.
- Configure and troubleshoot Dell iDRAC and HPE iLO.
- Diagnose server hardware issues and replace components such as RAM, CPUs, drives, and other hardware.
- Replace network optics and assist with server and switch connectivity troubleshooting.
- Perform approved server firmware upgrades and basic configuration tasks.
- Support Windows Server and Linux environments with basic administration and troubleshooting.
- Maintain hardware inventory, coordinate replacement parts, and manage defective hardware returns.
- Follow approved wiring diagrams, operational procedures, and hardware installation standards.
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience working in a data center environment.
- Strong knowledge of rack and stack, server installation, and structured cabling.
- Experience with Dell iDRAC and/or HPE iLO.
- Practical experience with server hardware troubleshooting and component replacement.
- Basic administration knowledge of Windows Server or Linux.
- Ability to work onsite and collaborate with remote network and system administration teams.
Important Requirements:
Candidates must be comfortable working the specified overnight schedule and reporting onsite in Reno, NV.
