Solar & BESS Service Technician (AP or SAP)
Leap29 are looking for a skilled Service Technician Solar PV & BESS to oversee sites across Colchester, Chelmsford, Braintree or Ipswich on behalf of a reputable IPP company with assets across the UK.
This is a fantastic opportunity to put your electrical expertise to work on projects that support the UK's transition to a cleaner, more sustainable future.
What will you be doing?
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across solar PV and battery storage sites.
- Diagnosing electrical faults, troubleshooting issues and completing repairs.
- Inspecting equipment, monitoring site performance and maintaining accurate records.
- Ensuring all work meets strict health, safety and operational standards.
- Working independently while collaborating with a wider technical team.
- Helping maximise the performance, reliability and safety of renewable energy assets.
What we're looking for
Essential:
- Qualified electrician or electrical engineer.
- BS 7671 qualification to the latest edition.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive, organised approach and the ability to work independently.
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Desirable:
- Experience in solar PV, battery storage, high-voltage systems or utility-scale renewables.
- Relevant inspection and testing qualifications.
- AP/SAP authorisation.
