Job Responsibilities
Daily operations and process control
- Manage the daily operation, staffing and on-site activities of the industrial wastewater treatment plant to ensure safe, stable and efficient performance.
- Oversee collection, equalization, chemical dosing, physicochemical treatment, sludge handling and process optimization.
- Monitor flow, pH, COD, suspended solids and other relevant indicators; coordinate sampling, testing and investigation of abnormal results.
- Establish and implement standard operating procedures, inspections, shift handovers, operating logs and work plans.
Environmental compliance and records
- Ensure operations comply with applicable Hungarian environmental requirements, discharge permits and monitoring obligations; prevent unauthorized or non-compliant discharges.
- Maintain records of water quality, chemical use, sludge generation and disposal, equipment operation and corrective actions.
- Support environmental engineers with monitoring, environmental reporting, authority inspections and corrective measures.
Maintenance, safety and people management
- Coordinate routine inspections and maintenance of pumps, blowers, dosing systems, pipelines, valves, instruments and control systems.
- Identify and respond to abnormal water quality, equipment failures, leaks and blockages, including emergency response arrangements.
- Enforce safe chemical handling, PPE, confined-space entry and other applicable high-risk work controls.
- Organize operator training, task allocation, field supervision and required shift or standby arrangements.
Commissioning and handover
- Participate in commissioning, trial operation, performance verification, technical handover and operational readiness activities.
- Work with designers, contractors, equipment suppliers and internal teams to resolve process and operational issues.
- Perform other duties assigned by the direct supervisor.
