As a key member of the Global Manufacturing Engineering Team, the Sr. Manufacturing Engineer position involves conducting Design for Manufacturing (DFM) studies, collaborating with vendors on new die builds, and overseeing critical activities such as simulation reviews, process optimization, die design evaluation, manufacturing progress tracking buyoff inspections andhomelinesupport.
What You'll Do
Lead Design for Manufacturability (DFM) studies usingAutoFormSimulation SoftwareCreate concept processes for parts within cost & quality targetsCollaborate with vendors on new die builds – Review simulation, Die Process, Die Design, Manufacturing, Buyoff &HomelineWorks with materials team on planning fornew programsand addressing quality investigationsWorks with vendors to ensure all targets, including quality and performance, are achieved prior to die shippingManage project schedules,identifyrisks and opportunities, and ensure all necessary activities are in place to meet deadlinesCollaborate with internal cross-functional teams during product developmentSupport vendor buyoff or stamping dies andassistwithhomeliningactivities
What You'll Bring
Proficient in Design for manufacturing (DFM) Studies including Class A Panels, minimum 5years experienceUnderstanding of stamping processes, design & build isrequiredUnderstanding of GD&T & BIW assembly processesDemonstrates leadership, teamwork & communication skillsKnowledge of production & quality control proceduresStrong time management skillsUnderstands material properties for steel & aluminum, experience with stainless steel preferredAble to work with multiple teams &establish/ maintain supplier relationships & performanceAbility to travel up to 20% for vendor buyoff of stamping dies andsupporthome liningactivities.
