As the company continues to grow, they are expanding their accounting team and are looking for a Senior Accountant who can help strengthen accounting processes, improve reporting, and support the continued growth of the organization.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join the accounting team. This position will play an important role in continuing to build and improve accounting processes and procedures while supporting accurate financial reporting and day-to-day accounting operations.
The Senior Accountant will work closely with the accounting team and collaborate with departments across the company. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex accounting and financial management activities, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and reconciliations.
- Manage daily, weekly, and monthly accounting activities, including revenue and deferred revenue, direct and indirect costs, journal entries, reclassifications, and bank reconciliations.
- Manage the month-end close process, including accruals, prepaid assets, fixed assets, AP/AR reconciliations, trial balance reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Prepare and analyze budgets, forecasts, and budget-to-actual variances.
- Prepare and provide financial reports and analysis to management.
- Ensure financial statements and accounting practices comply with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
- Work closely with an outside CPA firm on tax, audit, and government reporting requirements.
- Analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and recommend process improvements.
- Support the development and implementation of accounting processes and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and company information.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to resolve accounting and financial issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent accounting experience.
- 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
- Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, and data analysis.
- Experience with an ERP/accounting system; Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Navision experience is a strong advantage.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be comfortable working full-time onsite in Huntersville, NC.
