As a full-time Director Operations Strategy at Aalberts integrated piping systems Americas, you will be responsible for running the strategy deployment cadence and the annual strategic planning cycle while supporting commercial strategy with pricing, customer and channel analysis, produce market and competitive intelligence, and build the data analysis behind strategy decisions.

your challenge
- Own the multi-year manufacturing footprint and network strategy: capacity by plant and product line, make-or-buy, consolidation, expansion and new-site options.
- Lead network optimization and strategic expansion studies, including any outside advisors.
- Write the operations, capacity and footprint chapters of the annual strategy and five-year plan.
- Own the multi-year CapEx roadmap and the annual and monthly capital planning cycle with the COO and CFO.
- Set the CapEx screener method and scoring, and agree the financial assumptions with the CFO.
- Lead prioritization of the capital plan and its submission to group headquarters.
- Run stage gates and benefits tracking on approved projects; stop or re-plan projects that miss them.
- Set the smart factory and factory-of-the-future roadmap across the plants with the Director AME and IT.
- Define the roadmap for advanced planning and scheduling (APS) with the VP of Supply Chain.
- Build or approve the investment cases, and sequence pilots and rollouts.
- Lead the portfolio of major operations programs: the new-product ramp, major capital and footprint projects, and other high impact projects.
- Set integrated plans and stage gates; report status and risks to the executive team.
- Resolve resource and priority conflicts across plants and functions, escalating to the COO with options.
- Coach plant directors on strategy deployment, capital cases and program management.
- Build operations strategy capability in the plants and, if approved, lead a small team Lead operational due diligence on targets: plant condition, capacity, footprint fit and cost synergies.
- Own the operational synergy case, and lead the operations integration workstream after closing.
- Complete additional duties as assigned by your manager.
requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, supply chain or finance
- 7+ years in manufacturing operations, manufacturing engineering, operations strategy or operations consulting, in multi-plant businesses
- 3+ years leading capital, footprint or operations transformation programs across several plants
- Has owned capital programs of $10 million or more from business case through delivery and benefits tracking
- Builds and defends financial cases (DCF, NPV, payback) to a CFO and executive team
- Has led change across plants and functions without direct authority, including coaching plant leaders
- Executive and board-level communication, written and in person
targeted attributes
- MBA, or MS in industrial or systems engineering
- Footprint or network optimization experience, including use of statistical modeling tools
- Smart factory, Industry 4.0, ‘Factory of the Future’ or advanced planning and scheduling programs
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, and/or PMP
- SIOP or S&OP in a multi-plant business
- Power BI or equivalent data analytics/visualization skills

travel requirements
Occasional travel to operational sites up to 25% of the time. Frequent travel during onboarding ramp up (first 90days) up to 40% of the time.
