Your mission
As Government Relations Manager at BYD, your mission is to build and strengthen strategic relationships with regulatory authorities, government institutions, and key stakeholders to support BYD’s regional growth and long-term business objectives. You will secure public policy support, anticipate and navigate regulatory developments, and remove administrative barriers that may impact expansion projects. Acting as a trusted bridge between BYD and external institutions, you will drive permitting and approval processes, advocate for favorable frameworks that accelerate the adoption of electric mobility, and help create a stable and supportive environment for the company’s continued investment and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Government Liaison: Build and maintain trust-based relationships with local, regional, and national government authorities, regulatory agencies, embassies, and industry associations.
- Policy & Regulatory Monitoring: Track legislative developments, automotive/environmental standards, and compliance frameworks that affect business operations.
- Project Support & Permitting: Coordinate with internal legal, operations, and infrastructure teams to resolve bottlenecks regarding government permits, licenses, and project approvals.
- Incentives & Subsidies: Advocate for and manage applications for government subsidies, tax incentives, and favorable policy frameworks for electric vehicles and manufacturing.
- Crisis & Public Affairs Management: Assist in handling external issues, community relations, corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, and crisis communication.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Law, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Experience: 10+ years of professional experience in government relations, public affairs, or regulatory compliance, preferably within the automotive, manufacturing, or technology sectors.
- Skills: Strong stakeholder management, negotiation capabilities, regulatory analysis, and fluency in English.
