What To Expect
Tesla Energy is deploying utility-scale battery storage and Superchargers at pace across Asia Pacific. APAC Service delivers the Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSAs) and maintenance that keep those sites online. As the fleet grows, the region needs a durable capability to isolate, diagnose and recover off-nominal battery events, and to train others to the same standard.
Tesla is seeking a Technical Response Lead in Technical Operations. You will be on site when required, and in the office building the procedures, training and readiness so the next event is controlled, not improvised. The work is hands-on in the field and equally demanding at a desk: process, documentation and teaching.
What You'll Do
Respond swiftly, with measured coordination, to off-nominal battery events across APAC. Isolate, make safe, diagnose and recover faulted units, and leave the site in a controlled state. Diagnose and disassemble battery units, both routine and faulted, to a standard that Engineering and Service can use. Build and maintain APAC readiness: playbooks, procedures, tooling and training so field teams are prepared before an event, not during one. Train and mentor technicians and specialists on battery cells, modules and packs so they can diagnose, disassemble and make safe Tesla Energy products, and handle other off-nominal events to a consistent standard. Document every event so the method improves: what happened, what worked, and what to change in procedure, training or product. Partner with Service Engineering, Product Design, EHS, Technical Publications, field leadership and, where required, the customer. Write field-usable procedures and training that people follow on site, not documents that sit in a library. Confirm procedures work in the field. Travel to commissioning sites, operating sites and Tesla facilities to verify. Identify gaps in regional response capability and close them: skills, isolation practice, parts, documentation, access and readiness.
What You'll Bring
Certified Electrician (Certificate III in Electrotechnology or equivalent) with a current electrical licence or registration. 5+ years of relevant experience. Battery, high-voltage plant or industrial make-safe work preferred. Valid driver's licence. Ability to travel at short notice to sites across APAC, including outdoor work in varied environments. Strong electrical aptitude and hands-on comfort with isolation, LOTO and high-voltage systems. Ability to teach complex technical content so others can do the work safely without you. Experience writing procedures and work instructions that technicians can follow. Ability to hold multiple priorities, stay structured under time pressure, and close work to a recorded standard. Ability to manage and coordinate emergency scenarios. Excellent written and verbal communication with field crews, Engineering and leadership.
Nice to have
Hands-on battery module or pack diagnosis and disassembly. Familiarity with Tesla products, battery energy storage systems, or grid-scale storage operations. Working knowledge of APAC electrical safety standards (for example AS/NZS) and site access requirements. Experience building training or technical documentation for field teams
