What To Expect
As an NVH Sound Quality Engineer with our NVH team you will play a critical role in the design and development of Tesla’s industry-leading products. You will work with fellow NVH engineers and other engineering teams to solve the toughest challenges in the industry and deliver world-class sound quality performance.
What You'll Do
Set vehicle-level sound quality targets and define target cascade including vehicle system sensitivities to define component-level targetsProvide design guidance to engineering teams to achieve world-class acoustic performance of vehicle actuators and ancillary systemsCollaborate with cross-functional design teams, manufacturing, and suppliers from concept through productionDevelop and apply noise and sound quality metrics to evaluate designs and support engineering decisionsDiagnose and troubleshoot NVH issues through testing and analysis, and drive countermeasures to resolution
What You'll Bring
Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive operational sound quality (OSQ)Demonstrated ownership of the full product life cycle: target setting, design development, supplier and manufacturing communication, launch troubleshooting, and customer-driven improvementStrong background in psychoacoustics, jury testing methodology and application of sound quality metrics to real vehicle problemsExcellent understanding of acoustics and vibration principles, rotating and reciprocating source mechanisms, brake noise phenomena and digital signal processingExperience with NVH test equipment including impact hammers, shakers, binaural heads, artificial ears, acoustic cameras, microphones, and accelerometersExcellent knowledge of Siemens Simcenter Testlab (or equivalent) for data acquisition and post-processingProficient with MATLAB or Python for metric calculation, jury-data analysis, and automationStrong communication skills, self-motivation, independent worker, excellent team playerDemonstrated ability to deliver independent root cause analysis on difficult projects with tight timing constraintsDegree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Acoustics, or equivalent experience

Expected Compensation
$91,600 - $316,800/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
