EV.Careers is currently seeking a full-time, direct-hire Sales Account Manager for one of our partners, a manufacturer of commercial electric vehicle charging equipment used by charging networks, fleets, and automotive customers across North America. In this position, you will own new business and a portfolio of key accounts, and you will be the person who can talk power, site design, and connectors with a customer's engineers and then close the commercial deal with their leadership. This is a seat for someone who has actually sold chargers, not someone who needs an engineer on every call.
Responsibilities
- Own the full sales cycle: find, contact, and meet prospective customers, then close.
- Lead technical conversations on charger specifications, power output, connector configurations, site design, installation requirements, and service levels.
- Grow and defend a portfolio of key accounts as their primary commercial relationship.
- Build and execute sales strategy for your segments and territory, and identify where the next wave of demand is coming from.
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity, and feed real customer requirements back into the product roadmap.
- Partner with the Head of Sales and project management on targets, plans, and forecasts.
- Keep accurate records of sales activity, customer interactions, and market intelligence in CRM.
Required Qualifications
- Direct EV charger sales experience. This is a hard requirement. General sales experience in adjacent industries will not be considered.
- 3-plus years in the EV charging industry with an established network of industry contacts.
- 7 to 13 years of demonstrated success in account management or technical sales.
- Working knowledge of DC fast charging, power electronics, CCS and NACS connector standards, OCPP, and site and utility requirements.
- Ability to hold a technical conversation with engineering and operations buyers, not only procurement.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related technical field is strongly preferred. A business or marketing degree is considered when paired with strong technical charging experience.
- Willingness to travel roughly 30% in North America, plus occasional international travel.
- Proficiency with CRM software and sales analytics tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Existing relationships with national charging network operators, automotive charging programs, or large fleet operators.
- Experience selling high-power DC systems in the 150kW to 400kW range.
- Master's degree.
Benefits
- Base salary of $130,000 to $140,000, plus an uncapped commission plan paid quarterly.
- Health, dental, and vision insurance fully paid by the employer, including family coverage.
- 401(k) with company matching.
- Life, short-term disability, and long-term disability insurance.
- 15 days paid time off plus 13 paid holidays.
- Relocation support available for the right candidate.
