The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end sourcing and procurement of indirect materials and services essential to the efficient operation of our new factory. This role requires strong commercial and negotiation skills, effective supplier management, and the ability to work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure cost-effective, high-quality, and timely procurement solutions.
Job Responsibilities
Procurement Execution & Management
- Source, evaluate, and procure indirect materials required for daily plant operations, such as safety equipment, tools, office supplies, and cleaning materials.
- Manage procurement for small equipment modifications and facility upgrades.
- Oversee MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) categories to minimize downtime and support operational efficiency.
Supplier Development & Management
- Identify, assess, and onboard reliable local suppliers in Turkey.
- Lead negotiations on pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings while ensuring quality standards.
- Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and foster long-term strategic partnerships.
- Own end-to-end supplier relationship management, ensuring all commercial terms are clearly defined and documented. Finalize Non-Disclosure Agreements, General Terms & Conditions, and related contracts prior to engagement.
Process Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and local regulations.
- Maintain accurate and complete records of purchases, contracts, and supplier communications.
- Prepare and process purchase orders, invoices, and delivery documentation.
Cost & Inventory Control
- Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Collaborate with warehouse and operations teams to maintain optimal inventory levels for critical MRO items.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with operations, maintenance, finance, and other teams to align procurement activities with business needs.
- Provide timely updates on order status, potential delays, or issues that may impact operations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, preferably within manufacturing, industrial, or MRO sourcing.
- Experience managing local suppliers in Turkey.
- Familiarity with procurement systems and ERP software (e.g., SAP, Ariba).
- Understanding of contract fundamentals and ability to review standard commercial terms.
- Experience in cost analysis, “should-cost” estimation, and supplier quote evaluation.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills in both English and Turkish (written and spoken).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel for data analysis.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to manage costs and supplier performance effectively.
- Highly organized, capable of handling multiple tasks independently, and skilled at collaborating with engineers, supply chain professionals, and cross-functional teams.
