A Snapshot of Your Day
In this role, you will support the repair and refurbishment of nuclear (additional certification required) and fossil valves through a variety of hands-on shop activities. Key responsibilities include disassembly, dimensional and visual inspections, cleaning and surface preparation such as dust blasting, component repair, assembly, and functional testing.
The machining aspect of this position requires operating a variety of manual machine tools, including radial drills, small lathes, horizontal boring mills, and vertical boring mills. You will be responsible for setting up, adjusting, and operating equipment to meet repair and assembly requirements while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and operational standards.

- Follow established Siemens Energy procedures and work instructions to safely operate machinery and equipment.
- Read and interpret detailed drawings, sketches, blueprints, manufacturing specifications, and work instructions, and identify the tooling required to perform machining operations.
- Use material handling equipment, including jib cranes, bridge cranes, and forklifts, to load and unload parts from machines and assist crane operators as needed.
What You Bring
- Minimum education required: High School diploma or GED
- Must possess 2-3 years of machining and mechanical experience.
- Ability to obtain fork truck/crane license.
- Ability to use shop math, read and interpret drawings, calculate dimensional targets and perform basic metrology.
- Must be capable of wearing a respirator, and must pass a Process Operator Competency Test. Career Readiness/Work Keys Certificate – Silver Status required
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
