A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Tooling and Gauge Technician, you will support machining and assembly operations by ensuring all tooling, gauges, and fixtures are properly organized, maintained, and available for production. You will prepare tooling for upcoming jobs, manage calibration activities, maintain inventory records, and assist with quality verification through precision measuring equipment and CMM inspections. Working closely with production, quality, and purchasing teams, you will help improve efficiency, organization, and product quality across the manufacturing operation.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Maintain, organize, and manage tooling, gauges, and fixtures to ensure safe storage, accessibility, and compliance with company standards.
- Issue, receive, inspect, and prepare tooling and gauge kits to support machining operations and production schedules.
- Track gauge calibration schedules, coordinate calibration activities, and remove out-of-service gauges to maintain quality compliance.
- Perform CMM inspections and verify dimensional conformance of production parts to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Conduct tooling and gauge inventory audits, monitor stock levels, and support procurement of replacement or new equipment.
- Participate in 5S and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workplace organization, efficiency, and safety.
What You Bring
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical training in machining, manufacturing technology, metrology, or a related field preferred.
- 1+ years of experience in a machine shop, manufacturing, or industrial environment working with tooling and precision measurement equipment.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and bore gauges.
- Understanding of calibration processes, quality systems, and basic computer applications used for inventory and calibration tracking.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
