HMLV Operations Manager | Automotive Manufacturing
We’re seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead high-mix/low-volume (HMLV) manufacturing operations for a manufacturer.
This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing production, assembly, scheduling, inventory, and shipping. The right person knows how to lead teams, identify bottlenecks, improve production flow, and drive accountability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Do
- Lead daily production and assembly operations across multiple departments.
- Manage and develop supervisors, managers, and production employees.
- Drive improvements in throughput, backlog, WIP, labor utilization, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Partner with Engineering, Quality, Scheduling, Inventory, and Sales to resolve production constraints.
- Monitor operational KPIs and use data to identify and correct inefficiencies.
- Support 5S, safety, SOPs, capacity planning, cross-training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years leading production teams in a high-mix manufacturing/job shop environment.
- Strong understanding of production flow, labor efficiency, inventory, throughput, and manufacturing KPIs.
- Proven ability to identify bottlenecks and drive measurable operational improvements.
- Strong people leadership, communication, and accountability skills.
- Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office; Dynamics 365 Business Central experience is a plus.
