About Sync Neural Genesis
Sync Neural Genesis AG ("Sync") is building the infrastructure of the new energy economy — uniting generation, transmission, settlement, and finance into one integrated platform designed to accelerate the global transition to clean energy. Sync coordinates a family of connected ventures spanning gigawatt-scale energy project development, wireless power transmission (AEIR), blockchain-based energy settlement and verification (Netzium), and institutional capital vehicles for clean-energy deployment.
The Role
The CTO will lay the technical foundations for the launch of the Sync ecosystem's two core protocols:
Netzium, the digital asset at the cornerstone of the ecosystem, and
AEIR, a separate protocol built on a mint model focused on the transmission of energy throughout the system.
This is a hands-on, build-phase leadership role. The CTO will own the full technical roadmap — from the initial launch of Netzium on an established Layer 1 protocol, through the design and delivery of Netzium as a sovereign Layer 1 blockchain, alongside the parallel development of the AEIR protocol. The successful candidate will combine deep protocol engineering credibility with the commercial judgement to navigate token launches, staking economics, and exchange relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Netzium — Phase 1: Token Launch on an Established Layer 1
- Lead the technical launch of Netzium on an established Layer 1 protocol, with Canton Network as our preferred platform, validating this choice against security, cost, liquidity access, and the future migration path to a sovereign chain.
- Architect, build, and audit the Netzium token smart contracts, including supply mechanics, vesting, and treasury controls.
- Design and deliver Netzium's staking pool infrastructure, including reward mechanics, lock-up structures, delegation, and the supporting smart contracts and front-end.
- Own the technical workstream for exchange listings — centralised and decentralised — including technical due diligence, wallet and custody integrations, market-maker connectivity, and listing requirements.
Netzium — Phase 2: Sovereign Layer 1 Blockchain
- Define the architecture for Netzium as a purpose-built Layer 1 blockchain (consensus mechanism, validator design, tokenomics integration, interoperability, and bridging).
- Plan and execute the migration path from the Phase 1 token to the native chain, including token swap/bridge design and continuity for stakers and exchange listings.
- Build and lead validator operations, node infrastructure, testnet and mainnet launch programmes.
AEIR Protocol
- Design and build the AEIR protocol as a distinct, mint-based protocol supporting the transmission of energy throughout the Sync ecosystem.
- Define the mint model mechanics, on-chain verification and settlement logic, and the integration points between AEIR, Netzium, and the physical energy infrastructure layer.
- Ensure clean architectural separation between the two protocols while enabling deep interoperability across the ecosystem.
Technology Leadership
- Recruit, lead, and develop the engineering organisation: protocol engineers, smart contract developers, infrastructure/DevOps, and security.
- Establish engineering standards, security practices, and an audit programme (multiple independent smart contract audits, bug bounty, incident response).
- Work with the CFO and legal counsel on the regulatory and compliance dimensions of token issuance, staking, and exchange listings across relevant jurisdictions (including Swiss FINMA guidance and EU MiCA).
- Represent Sync's technology externally — with exchanges, auditors, institutional partners, and the developer community.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience at a top-tier blockchain protocol (e.g. a leading Layer 1/Layer 2, or a protocol with significant TVL and live mainnet operations) in a senior engineering or technical leadership role.
- Direct, hands-on experience building and launching staking pools — reward design, smart contract implementation, and live operations.
- Track record of taking a token through exchange listings, including the technical, custody, and integration workstreams with centralised and decentralised exchanges.
- Deep expertise launching tokens on established Layer 1 protocols, and credible experience with (or demonstrable capability for) building a sovereign Layer 1 chain.
- Strong smart contract engineering background (e.g. Solidity, Rust) and fluency in protocol security, audits, and key management.
- Experience scaling engineering teams through a launch phase.
Desirable
- Experience with Canton Network and Daml smart contract development, or other institutional-grade permissioned/hybrid blockchain environments.
- Experience in energy, DePIN (decentralised physical infrastructure networks), or real-world asset tokenisation.
- Familiarity with token economics design and working alongside market makers.
- Experience operating within Swiss and/or EU digital asset regulatory frameworks.
- Prior experience in a venture-backed or founder-led environment moving from whitepaper to mainnet.
What Sync Offers
- A ground-floor executive role shaping the technical direction of an integrated energy and digital asset ecosystem.
- Competitive executive compensation package, including equity and token allocation.
- The opportunity to build two protocols from first principles with full ownership of the technical roadmap.
