What To Expect
Tesla is searching for a passionate Associate Manager highly motivated to lead part of the Central Engineering Department at Gigafactory Nevada. The role includes leadership of CAPEX engineering project implementation and leadership of our maintenance and sustaining program for existing material flow automation. This individual will be responsible for leading the maintenance and engineering departments including the upkeep of all manufacturing assets and resources and delivering new equipment to production, following all Tesla standards of excellence. The Associate Manager will oversee multiple shifts of project Engineers, sustaining engineers, and Maintenance Supervisors and Technicians.
What You'll Do
Set direction and priorities across project engineering, sustaining engineering, and maintenanceDrives the maintenance and reliability initiative focused on preventive and predictive maintenance rather than reactive maintenanceDrives projects from concept through completion, maintaining budgets and schedules and delivering equipment designed in compliance with all Tesla standardsResponsible for vendor management, FAT/SAT, controls/integration coordination, and management of new equipment into productionSetting and maintaining departmental goals and KPI’s, monitoring line efficiencies, labor cost, and other department expensesPartners cross-functionally to manage, maintain and establish procedures with production lines to ensure production meets or exceeds the targetsMaintains manufacturing assets and facility, parts inventory, monitoring purchase orders, invoice approvalsProvides training and continuous development to both direct and indirect reportsPerforms performance evaluations on direct reports and establishes work schedules to ensure coverage for production and for project activitiesTesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams’ safety training is current, documenting EHS incidents, proactively correcting workplace hazards in the areas, and empowering others to continuously improve operations
What You'll Bring
Minimum 3 years of leadership in engineering and operationsDegree Engineering, or equivalent experienceStrong maintenance and reliability knowledge with applicable improvement and/or implementation experienceSafety and risk management experienceMaintenance database set-up and managementProject management experienceTotal Productive Maintenance (TPM) program implementationGreen belt / Black belt certification is a plusExcellent technical knowledge of equipment, products, and processes. Allen Bradley and/or Siemens PLC experience, Fanuc and/or Kuka robot experience is a plusStrong knowledge/experience managing maintenance and preventative maintenance through CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management system)
