Job Purpose
To ensure the implementation and continuous improvement of workplace safety systems in accordance with Hungarian and EU regulations, prevent occupational accidents and ensure safe operations.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Compliance
- Interpret and implement relevant Hungarian and EU safety laws and regulations;
- Ensure compliance with SEVESO, occupational health and safety (OHS) and fire safety requirements;
Workplace Safety Management
- Identify potential safety hazards and implement corrective and preventive measures;
- Lead or participate in risk assessments and safety inspections;
- Monitor high-risk activities such as confined space, hot work, and lifting operations.
System and Procedure Management
- Support the implementation of ISO 45001 occupational health and safety management system;
- Develop and maintain safety procedures, work instructions and emergency plans;
Incident Management
- Investigate safety incidents and near misses, identify root causes and implement improvements;
- Prepare incident reports and follow up on corrective actions.
Training & Communication
- Deliver safety training to employees and contractors;
- Promote safety awareness and build a proactive safety culture.
Coordination & External Liaison
- Coordinate with government authorities on inspections and reporting;
- Participate in SEVESO-related public hearings, drills and compliance processes.
Qualifications
Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field is prefered;
Experience
Minimum 2 years in industrial safety management, experience in EU countries preferred;
Skills
- Familiar with Hungarian and EU safety laws and SEVESO directive;
- Knowledge of ISO 45001 safety management systems;
- Strong analytical, communication and emergency handling skills;
- Proficient in MS Office and safety risk assessment tools.
